Luxury Hotel Interior Design in Morocco

Espace hospitality conçu par AMARGUS

AMARGUS Group is a luxury interior architecture studio based in Casablanca that designs hotels across Morocco, from concept to turnkey delivery, where brand identity and operational performance move together. A hotel is judged the moment a guest steps into the lobby — and judged again with every night in the room, every meal at the restaurant, every minute at the spa. Interior design for a hospitality property is not a styling exercise: it is an investment that directly shapes occupancy rate, achievable average rate and guest loyalty, which is why a specialist hotel interior designer treats performance and atmosphere as one brief.

For a hotel investor or general manager, choosing an interior architect commits significant capital over a long horizon — a hotel fit-out is rarely renovated before seven to ten years. A design that ages badly, fails to differentiate the property from competitors, or overlooks daily operating constraints (housekeeping, maintenance, back-of-house flows) is paid for in lost margin every year of operation.

What makes hotel design different

Guest experience and narrative journey

A hotel tells a story, from the entrance to the room. That narrative is built in sequences: an arrival that sets the tone, circulation that raises or lowers tension, communal spaces that invite guests to linger rather than pass through. We design each journey as a coherent sequence of experiences, calibrated to the property's target guest — leisure, business, or both.

Economic performance and RevPAR

Every design decision has a measurable impact on operating performance. Room layout influences the number of sellable keys per floor. Lobby and F&B design influence ancillary spend per guest. A layout that eases housekeeping turnover lowers operating costs over the life of the property. We build these profitability variables — capacity, flow, upkeep cost — into our design decisions, not aesthetics alone.

Brand identity and differentiation

In an increasingly dense Moroccan hospitality market, differentiation is no longer just about location or star rating. It plays out through a recognisable, photogenic identity, coherent from the website to the texture of the bathrobe. We translate a property's brand positioning — quiet luxury, contemporary Moroccan, intimate boutique — into a coherent material language: palette, materials, furniture, lighting, signage.

Operational durability of materials

A hotel sees intensive, continuous use, seven days a week. Corridor flooring, upholstery fabrics, bathroom surfaces must withstand that rhythm without losing perceived quality before the expected amortisation period. We select professional hospitality-grade product ranges — not reconditioned residential materials — validated for commercial-intensity performance over time.

Our method: design, procurement & site supervision, turnkey delivery

AMARGUS structures every hotel project in three connected phases, with validation milestones at each stage:

1. Design — Defining concept and positioning with ownership and operations, layout plans (rooms, public areas, F&B, back-of-house), material and furniture palette selection, an approved design package before works commit.

2. Procurement and site supervision (OPC) — Sourcing and negotiation of furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E), trade and supplier coordination, schedule management, on-site quality control at every critical phase.

3. Turnkey delivery — Snagging, furniture, lighting and signage installation, handover of an operational property ready for opening or reopening.

This sequencing gives the investor clear visibility on budget and schedule — essential when a commercial opening date is already committed.

Why work with a Casablanca-based studio

A hotel project mobilises a dense network of furniture suppliers, Moroccan craftsmanship (zellige, tadelakt, joinery, wrought iron) and finishing trades whose real quality is verified on site. A studio based in Casablanca, such as AMARGUS, knows this network of artisans and suppliers, real local production lead times, and the logistical constraints specific to the Moroccan market — a proximity that lets local craftsmanship be integrated into a contemporary design without the delays and risks of remote oversight.

Our approach to hotel projects

Every hotel project starts with listening: desired positioning, target guest, constraints of the existing building or site, investment budget. This scoping phase shapes every decision that follows and avoids costly changes of direction once design is underway. Our team stays involved from initial concept through handover, with a single point of contact for the investor throughout the project.

What does your project need?

Pick your situation — we show you the recommended combination of services.

01

Interior Architecture

Room-type and public-space design conceived for guest experience as much as for the property's operational performance.

02

Procurement

FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) sourcing coordinated at full-hotel scale, with range consistency across every room type.

03

Project Management

Site coordination aligned to hotel operating constraints — phasing, handover by floor or by wing.

04

Turnkey Fit-Out

Turnkey delivery of a full property, from brand-identity concept through to operational opening.

We design your space end to end — interior architecture plus sourcing of materials and furniture.

Typical timelines (Moroccan market)

These figures are indicative, to help frame an initial planning horizon. Every hotel project is assessed individually according to category, size and finish level.

  • Design phase: typically 8 to 12 weeks.
  • FF&E sourcing and supplier selection: typically 6 to 10 weeks, often in parallel with construction.
  • Works: typically 6 to 12 months depending on surface area and the condition of the existing building.

Is your property in Marrakech? Our dedicated page on hotel interior design in Marrakech covers the local specifics — riads, heritage, international clientele. For F&B spaces, see our approach to luxury restaurant interior design in Morocco.

For a renovation or new-build project, expect generally between 8 and 18 months from initial scoping to opening, depending on property size, condition of the existing building and the complexity of technical trades.

Yes, sourcing and procurement of furniture, lighting and equipment is a core part of our engagement, from supplier selection to coordinating on-site deliveries.

Yes, these projects require specific phasing — renovation by floor or by successive wings — to allow the property to keep welcoming guests during part of the works. This phasing is planned from the design stage with hotel management.

We work with a network of local artisans (zellige, tadelakt, joinery, wrought iron) to bring Moroccan know-how into a contemporary architectural vocabulary, rather than folkloric decoration. The level of integration is defined by the property's desired brand positioning.

Design support covers project definition through to approved drawings. OPC (site scheduling, supervision, coordination) adds on-site management of the contractors selected by the owner. Turnkey adds full procurement and delivery of a property ready for operation. The choice depends on the investor's desired level of involvement.

There is no single rate: the cost depends on the scope retained (design only, site supervision, or turnkey), the property's size and category, and the extent of the FF&E. Every hotel project receives a bespoke fee proposal established after consultation, and our engagements start from a minimum fee threshold.
